
A&R Resource Guide
As with all of our projects, there were a lot of unique aspects to this project. The needs really surpassed anything that we had encountered, but we were definitely up to the challenge.
The A&R Resource Guide was an offshoot project generated out of our work with The Inside Connection. The Inside Connection was launching a listing product geared to allow musicians promote themselves and their music directly to industry executives that could help them in their careers. The problem with a purely print product is that with music there's no way to HEAR what you're looking at. In addition, from a value perspective there's little to intice a poor musician to fork over some hard earned money for something that wasn't perceived as being anything special.
The business strategy needed refinement.
The company needed the ability to present not only visually, but sonically, the musician as a product. This required an easy way to implement and play audio for hundreds of musicians with an implementation that integrated the audio right into the web pages. This was not an easy task that could have required quite an investment to develop tools and utilities that would allow for this to be a very simple process.
Our success in this project is measured very simply -- we found a very simple although not unique solution to these business issues and implemented and launched an incredible site, all in less than 1 week.
